Understanding Spiritual Alchemy
Spiritual alchemy is a profound and ancient practice that harnesses the principles of both physical and metaphysical transformation. It integrates elements of science, psychology, and spirituality to facilitate the transmutation of the Self, leading to spiritual awakening and Ascension.
In its essence, spiritual alchemy is the process of purifying and refining one's being, much like the alchemists of medieval times transformed base metals into gold. However, in this alchemical pursuit, the focus is not on material wealth but on the transmutation of one's consciousness and the elevation of the soul.
The Alchemical Stages of Ascension
Central to alchemy are its seven stages. Each has its physical material component (Lead, Tin, Iron, Copper, Mercury, Silver, and Gold), and its mental/spiritual transformational aspect that leads to the embodiment of christ consciousness or soul embodiment. Each stage represents a transformative phase that an alchemist, or an individual on the path to ascension, must undergo to achieve spiritual enlightenment and transcendence.
1. Lead: The first stage represents the unawakened self, burdened by limitations, fears, and attachments. It is a call to recognize our inner shadows and initiate the alchemical process. I refer to the alchemical process of “calcination” as the “melt-down.” In this stage, we realize we can’t continue to struggle and feel the need to let go, give up, or find meaning. Circumstances like divorce, loss of a job, loss of a loved one, or serious illness often serve as a catalyst to awakening.
2. Tin: Moving beyond the heaviness of lead, this stage “dissolution” signifies the purification of the mind, body, and spirit. One sifts through the ashes of their previous identity and begins to question what is really important.
3. Iron: This stage of “separation” which I refer to as the stage of “release” requires discipline, strength and a willingness to look within at the good, the bad, and the ugly. This stage signifies a deep commitment to the path of spiritual alchemy as we identify our limiting beliefs and ego coping mechanisms and let go of what no longer aligned. In this stage one will seek out classes, books, healing modalities and soak up as much information on spiritual topics as possible. This is a major stage of transition in all life areas.
4. Copper: This stage “conjunction” that I call “reconnection” is the domain of the heart chakra. Through inner healing, the balancing of the masculine and feminine energies, deep forgiveness, love and self-love, one opens the heart gateway. Many will be guided to activate their Merkaba (light-body) as an ascension tool to gain entry into the higher dimensional states of consciousness. Through this practice, one merges energetically with the Higher Self aspect in the 5th dimensional plane. This reconnection brings about heightened psychic ability, synchronicities and activation of starseed DNA. Life feels more balanced as you use the higher mind more often than the ego mind and can see situations from a new perspective.
5. Mercury: This stage “fermentation” is a stage of “re-birth”. One is no longer the old, limited, reactionary self. The true self has emerged. This stage symbolizes a heightened state of consciousness and spiritual awakening. One begins to connect with their spiritual purpose and to remember more and more aspects of the soul’s journey and cosmic origins. During this stage one has many opportunities to practice the new patterns of thinking and keeping their energy field aligned with higher states of consciousness.
6. Silver: The stage of “distillation” that I call “integration” is the “walking the walk” stage. One attains a state of elevated intuition, wisdom, and reflective qualities. This stage involves deep introspection, embracing the interconnectedness of all things, and transcending the ego's limitations. Seeing that everything in the outer world is a reflection of one’s inner self and that any circumstance can be alchemized through the power of the mind. One practices love all that is whether perceived as light or dark with the understanding that there is no separation.
7. Gold: The stage of “coagulation” or soul embodiment. One embodies gold christ consciousness, and the light body is fully activated in 12 dimensions. The final stage of spiritual alchemy represents the pinnacle of transformation and enlightenment. Alchemists refer to this as the “philosopher’s stone”. Those who have reached this stage embody the radiant and pure essence of gold, transcending the limitations of the physical world and uniting with the divine.
